Carp Fair began in 1863 and celebrates its 150th year in 2013. The fair was a major event in Huntley Township and occurred in the fall. The people of Huntley Township would gather together and show their animals and produce at the Fair. People would come from far and wide every year just to attend the fair and reunite with their families and friends.

"This Sesquicentennial Anniversary is very significant for the West Carleton Community. This book, Carp Fair, History in the Making has been written as an account of the past history of the Carp Agricultural Society and its Annual Fair. The fourth weekend in September is near and dear to our hearts and attending the Carp Fair is a tradition for many families in the Carp area and beyond."

The book was commissioned by the Carp Agricultural Society and the Carp Fair Board to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Fair.
